2012 Spring Season Registration



Registration is OPEN!

Please read ALL of the following information before registering!!!

Even number of teams - The league will always have an even number of teams, usually four or six teams.  

Work-Out Session - The 2012 Spring Season will begin with a "Work-out" session at Woodside Mill Baseball Park in Simpsonville for all new players on March 18 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. This is not to be confused with a try-out - there are no try-outs in GAP baseball.  The purpose of Work-out sessions are to give new players (and prospects) a chance to take some infield practice, to meet a few veteran players, and to ask the Commissioner and Team Managers a few questions before the league begins. 

Schedule - Opening Day for the 2012 Spring Season will be on Sunday, March 25th , 2012.  There will be no games on Labor Day Weekend.  Two weeks will be reserved for rain-out dates.

Age Requirements - All players registering must be 18 years of age 2012.  All starting pitchers must be 28 years of age or turning 28 in 2012.  Exception - Father-Son Rule: Players may be between 14-17 years of age so long as their father, step-father or father-in-law is playing on the same team. 

Teams - Partial teams may request to play together, but all players must register individually.  To sign up to play on a specific team, please enter the player(s) or manager's name in the "Requested Teammates" field in the registration. Players may switch teams from season to season. Teams will also be posted on this Website at the bottom of the 2012 Spring Schedule page.

Uniforms - New players MUST purchase both a team uniform ($75) and the 2012 Spring Registration Fee. All players who've already purchased the official uniform need not purchase another one.

Registration Fee - The 2012 Spring Regstration Fee is $125 for 9 games. If positions are available, players may register after March 23th but will be required to pay a $15.00 late fee.

SCASA Insurance - The Gap League is associated with the South Carolina Softball Association (SCASA).  With this partnership, SCASA provides every player with up to $250,000 supplemental accident insurance.  SCASA requires that ALL players be insured, even if you already have insurance.  The fee for SCASA Insurance is $20.00, per calendar year.  Those who play(ed) in the Spring will have insurance for the calendar year and will not have to purchase insurance for the Fall season.

Team Managers - Team Managers must be over 30 years of age.  Men with high integrity, strong character and who believe in the league philosophy are ideal as team managers. Usually, the league looks for Managers who have played at least one season with the league, but is not required. Responsibilities: Create the team's rotating batting order for the season by the second game, create a fielding line-up for each game, and encourage players throughout the season!  No recruiting or handling of any money is required. If you have an interest in being a Team Manager, please check the appropriate box on the registration form.

The league offers NO payment plans and no refunds.  The registration fee, insurance fee and the cost for uniforms are due IN FULL at the time of registration.  Online payments are made through PayPal, which accepts all major credit cards.
