2009 Fall Season Registration

2009 Fall Season Registration is open. Please read ALL of the following information before registering.
Even number of teams - The league will always have an even number of teams. This is so no team is forced to have a scheduled "bye" weekend and minimizes 7-inning double-header games. If we have enough players register for 10 or 12 teams or if we have a team registering from another city, we may find another field closer to those teams. These fields could be as far away as Traveler's Rest, Spartanburg, Anderson or Laurens.
Work-Out Session - The 2009 Fall Season will begin with a "Work-out" session in Simpsonville for all new players on August 23rd at 5:00pm. This is not to be confused with a try-out - there are no try-outs in GAP baseball. The purpose of Work-out sessions are to give new players (and prospects) a chance to take some infield practice, to meet a few veteran players, and to ask the Commissioner and Team Managers a few questions before the league begins.
Schedule - Opening Day for the 2009 Fall Season will be on August 30th. There are two weekends reserved for make-up games, and we may schedule make-up games on Saturday afternoons. There will be no games on Labor Day Weekend. We do however play on Columbus day weekend.
Age Requirements - All players registering must be 28 years of age or turning 28 in 2009. All starting pitchers must be 35 years of age or turning 35 in 2009. Exception - Father-Son Rule: Players may be between 18-27 years of age so long as their father, step-father or father-in-law is playing on the same team. Also, players 28+ may pitch starting in the sixth inning (provides a "closing" strategy).
Teams - Full or partial teams may request to play together, but all players must
register individually. To sign up to play on a specific team,
please enter the player(s) or manager's name in the "Requested Teammates" field in the registration. Players may switch teams from season to season. Team Managers will notify their players of the team they're on by August 26th and the game time of their first game on August 30th. Teams will also be posted on this Website on the 2009 Fall Schedule page.
Uniforms - New players MUST purchase both a team uniform ($115) and the Fall Registration Fee. All players who've already purchased the official uniform need not purchase another one.
Registration Fee - The Fall 2009 Regstration Fee is $110 for a minimum of 8 games. Early registration (before July 1st) is $99.
Team Managers - Men with high integrity and strong character are ideal for team managers. Usually, the league looks for Managers who have played at least one season with the league, but is not required. Responsibilities: Create a batting order for the season by the second game; create a fielding line-up for each game; provide the league with three players who will compete in the end-of-season Home Run Derby; and encourage your players throughout the season! No recruiting or handling of any money is required. If you have an interest in being a Team Manager, please check the appropriate box on the registration form.
The league offers NO payment plans (please don't ask). The Season Fee and payment for uniforms are due IN FULL at the time of Registration. Absolutely no refunds. Online payments are made through PayPal, which accepts all major credit cards.
